Second Harvest Food Distribution Volunteer Opportunity
The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia is proud to partner with Second Harvest of Central Florida to help fight food insecurity in our community. Each month, we receive special bonus food shipments that allow us to distribute thousands of pounds of food to neighbors in need and help prevent homelessness—and we need volunteers to make it happen!
Volunteers will work together as a team from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM to assemble food bags. At 12:00 PM, volunteers will assist with distributing food to community members while supplies last. This is a fast-paced, high-energy event that requires teamwork, organization, and a willingness to lend a helping hand.
What to Wear & Bring:
-
Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty
-
Closed-toed shoes
-
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
-
A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
Youth Volunteers:
Volunteers under the age of 18 are welcome! However, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire shift.
Join us in making a real difference for our neighbors—your time and effort help put food on tables across our community.
